sign up for the 2008 celtic charity cup
Michael McGowan
THIS year’s Celtic Charity Cup competition takes place in October and your five-a-side team can now sign up to take part.
By taking part, you’ll also support the main beneficiary, CHAS, plus a host of other charities through Celtic Charity Fund.
Last year's Celtic Charity Cup was won by Phoenix Green, who had the privilege of being presented with the trophy by the late, great Tommy Burns (pictured above), who was always a tremendous supporter of Celtic Charity Fund.

The event takes place on Saturday, October 11, starting from 11am at Powerleague, Townhead, Glasgow and will be run on a ‘World Cup’ style.

The two teams who play in the final will be presented with a full set of new Celtic kit (one will receive the home kit and the other the away kit), courtesy of Nike. There will also be a random draw for all entrants, with the following prizes.

FUNDRAISING REQUIREMENT
Following registration, each team will be issued with a tournament information pack including seven (one per player) football scratchcards.
Each player is required to sell one of these cards to raise funds for Celtic Charity Fund and main beneficiary, CHAS. This is in addition to the £40 entry fee. There are 40 teams per card; stake £1; prize money £20; fundraising for Celtic Charity Fund/CHAS £20.
Please note this forms part of the entry requirement and your team will not be permitted to take part on the day, unless it has been met.
Full payment details will be included in the tournament information pack but all proceeds – £140 per team – must be paid by Wednesday 8th October 2008.
